He very clearly said "using compression", so I bet he wants to know how to display DTE : speed (i.e., 115200, etc.) rather than DCE. I'd help, but don't have a USR. : -- Jay : _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ : _/ Jay Masino - EDOS Project '67 Piper Cherokee, N4269J _/ : _/ Loral AeroSys at CSC/GreenTec IV Fly Hershey Bar Pipers! _/ : _/ Office:(301)794-2595 FAX:(301)794-7208 __!__ _/ : _/ E-mail: Jay.Masino@gsfc.nasa.gov _____(_)_____ _/ : _/ jmasino@edos1.gsfc.nasa.gov ! ! ! _/ : _/ _/ Why in the world someone wants to figure out how to display DTE settings from the modem? DTE settings is something you setup in your software. For instance, I'm using PROCOMM for WINDOWS. As I'm typing this message, a bottom line clearly says '57600'. and I know it too well. After all I have selected this value. And furthermore this value must remain fixed, not adjustable, if you want to use a compression. The isssue is 'what is the actual throughput'? Modem won't show it. You actually have to measure it, and it depends on lots of factors, including communication channel, file transfer protocol, and a type of data you transfer. : _/ #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* My opinions are not NASA's */ _/ : /_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ --- Good for NASA ---- - Greg -
